What is a thread lift?
PDO threads utilize thin, biodegradable threads made of polydioxanone to anchor the sagging facial fat tissues, providing added support to the underlying structures for a noticeable lift. The PDO thread procedure works by first stimulating inflammation right after the threads have been placed. The inflammation stimulates the skin and tissue to respond through a healing process. As the skin heals, it rebuilds collagen and strengthens the skin’s structure. The implanted threads will reabsorb and completely heal in 4-6 months without leaving any scar tissues behind.
This treatment is most commonly referred to as a non-surgical facelift, but we are now able to lift and tighten tissue all over the body. We can now use PDO threads to lift many areas on the body, including the face and neck, including above the knees and on the stomach, arms, and buttocks.
The threads are introduced into the skin’s deeper layers where they begin to exert different actions including:

Q: HOW LONG DOES IT LAST? The PDO Thread Lift works by redefining the facial contours and inducing collagen production creating a lifting effect which lasts for up to 2 – 3 years.
Q: WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE LIKE? There are multiple causes that physically age us. Therefore, one must always consider a combination approach to aesthetic enhancement as there is no magic bullet or one modality that “does it all,” not even cosmetic surgery. Your face is thoroughly cleaned and prepped. Local anesthetic is applied on your skin and sometimes gently injected into entry points for the threads. A tiny pilot hole is made with a needle and a smooth-tipped microcannula is inserted through this hole to place barbed threads just beneath your skin. Momma will reposition your skin with just the right amount of gentle pressure as the cannula is removed, leaving the barbed PDO thread behind to grab onto the underside of your skin. This will hold it in a lifted position. Smooth PDO threads can be placed with a smaller needle or cannula.

After the procedure, tiny bandages are applied over the entry sites. Elastic kinesiology tape with adhesive may be applied to relieve some of the pressure on the repositioned skin. This can be removed when you get home, though we recommend you keep it on for at least 12-24 hours if possible. Photographs will be taken before and after your procedure to evaluate results.
